A Tribute to Frédéric Back

This DVD boxed set is a tribute to Frédéric Backs exceptional work as a world renowned master of film animation.

With 9 of his films included, the set also offers an oportunity to get to know the man behind the work. It includes interviews with Frédéric Back and Hubert Tison, his executive producer, as well as an exclusive interview with Jean Giono, author of The Man Who Planted Trees, which Back brought to life in his Oscar award-winning film version. (Best Animated Short Film, 1988.)

The DVDs also encompass more than one hundred photos, biographical documents, and a unique introduction by Frédéric Back and Hubert Tison, specifically produced for this boxed set.

A Tribute to Frédéric Back was produced by Radio-Canada, to mark the 50th anniversary of its television programming. Frédéric Back worked for Radio-Canada beginning in 1952, the year of the Corporations first televised broadcast. He brought his talent and creativity to several of their programs before dedicating himself to animated films.
