Dr. Gordon Hasick
NUCCA Chiropractor/Producer/Facilitator
Dr. Hasick graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in March 1980 and has been in private practice in Calgary since June 1980. Dr. Hasick became a board-certified instructor for the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association in 1989 and continues to teach on a regular basis. He was Chief Chiropractic Officer for the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary and team Chiropractor for Team Canada Men’s National Volleyball Team. In 1991 he was awarded a Fellowship by Palmer College of Chiropractic inducting him into the Palmer Academy of Chiropractic.
Dr. Hasick completed work on the Phase Contrast Migraine Headache research project that was a collaboration with The Britannia Clinic, The University of Calgary and the Calgary Headache Assessment & Management Program (CHAMP) at the Foothills Hospital with Dr. Werner Becker ( Neurologist); Dr. Noam Alperin at the University of Florida (Miami) and Dr. Charles Woodfield with the Upper Cervical Research Foundation (UCRF). The study manuscript has been published by BioMed Research International.
Dr. Hasick is the founder and president of the Dr. Ralph R. Gregory Memorial Foundation (Canada) as well as serves on the NUCCA and UCRF boards.
In 1993, Dr. Hasick created the company C-1 Film® Productions Corp. to produce and promote educational programs for television. “There is a need for educational films that are dedicated to helping people help themselves. These programs needed a realistic and practical perspective. The subject matter created for these films and products is from the lived experience. The authentic content is what is helpful for other people to learn from. We can often relate to someone that has gone through similar struggles, or simply has similar questions. We find this can provide comfort and guidance to understand and cope with the stresses of daily living.”
As part of his educational experiences, Dr. Hasick was hired as part of a team that designed and facilitated a week-long leadership development program at the Banff Centre. The Building Personal Leadership program continues to run at the Banff Centre and some of the course material created for this program is used in the clinic today.
Dr. Hasick appreciates the opportunity to be actively involved in practice today along with the research and educational interests for doctors, patients and the public. His goals are simply to help people improve the quality of their lives through Upper Cervical Health Care, self-care education, and complementary and integrated health care wherever needed.
